De regreso a mi Mundo … :)

Filed under: ChristianMCE

Configuring a wireless card on Ubuntu Feisty 7.04

Filed under: OBSS

I decided publish a little manual about how to configure a card wireless using Ubuntu OS (Feisty 7.04) in a Laptop DELL Inspiron 6400:

Well first I talking a little bit about ndiswrapper…

Ndiswrapper is a free software driver wrapper that enables the use of most wireless network cards on Linux by implementing the Windows kernel and NDIS APIs and dynamically linking the vendor’s Windows drivers to this implementation and allows you to use the Windows Driver for your network card in Linux. You will need at least the inf and the .sys file of your driver.

>> First Step (Identifying a card’s model)

# lspci | grep Broadcom
06:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation Dell Wireless 1390 WLAN Mini-PCI Card (rev 01)

>> Second Step (Downlading the Driver)

$ wget http://www.jrdw.com/linux/wireless/bcmdrivers.tar.gz
$ tar -xzvf bcmdrivers.tar.gz

>> Next Step (Downlading Ndiswrapper)

$ wget http://superb-east.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/ndiswrapper/ndiswrapper-1.38.tar.gz
$ tar -xzvf ndiswrapper-1.38.tar.gz

>> Installing some tools about ndiswrapper
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install build-essential module-assistant fakeroot dh-make debconf libstdc++5
linux-headers-$(uname -r)

>>Installing Ndiswrapper
$ cd ndiswrapper-1.38
$ sudo make uninstall #hacer esto al menos dos vecez
$ sudo make
$ sudo make install

>>Installing the driver using ndiswrapper
# sudo ndiswrapper -i /path/whereisthedriver/bcmwl5.inf

# ndiswrapper -l
installed drivers:
bcmwl5 driver installed, hardware (14E4:4311) present (alternate driver: bcm43xx)
$ sudo ndiswrapper -m

We must copy the correct driver
if your driver is (14E:4311) then the file is 14E4:4311.5.conf , but if the driver is (14E:43XX) the we copy the file 14E4:43XX.5.conf
# sudo cp /etc/ndiswrapper/bcmwl5/14E4:4311.5.conf /etc/ndiswrapper/bcmwl5/.conf

We should edit a configuration file and chek a configuration line (Afterburner)
$gedit /etc/ndiswrapper/bcmwl5/.conf

“Afterburner|1? edit —> “Afterburner|0?

Finally we enable ours driver

# depmod -a

$ sudo modprobe ndiswrapper
$sudo modprobe -r ndiswrapper
$sudo modprobe ndiswrapper
$sudo ndiswrapper -m

We must set a name ours interfaz wireless
$iwconfig wlan0
$ifconfig eth1 up

$iwconfig

You must see it in your terminal something like that:

wireless card eth1

this picture shows you the interface eth1, who is the wireless interface. In addition, you can see the result of command (iwlist scan) which allows looking for wireless networks.

Wwell my friend, I hope this manual will be useful for you, see lo later!!

A couple weeks, The Accountant faculty where I work, it was tested by an organization called CACECA which tests the quality of career and certificates it, so that a group of teacher were working for many weeks about that certification. We had to get a bounch of information that describes the different process belongs to faculty. Many days we worked very late, starting 8:00 a.m to 4:00 a.m the next day jejeje!! Well I believe we achieve the goal (The Certification of the Career ), I hope jaja

It’s a matter of great pride for people to achieve the certification, because the faculty can get many resources like a financing, better infrastructure, scholarship for its students… etc

The last day, we took a picture, I show you it!!

Posting again !!

Filed under: OBSS

After eigth or nine months, I decided post again ;) . During that time many thing have happened in my life, some are bad another good, but I believe that I must be happy!! I hope following to achieve my personal goals ;) One of thing because I feel veryu happy is that I’m a teache in the UNACH, the University where I studied. jeje
The only bad thing about that is I don’t have free-time, because I’m busy always preparing my class or praticing some concepts and learning new topics about computers but I try to spend my little free-time going to disco, to see the movies or playing basketball or volleyball with some friends.

On saturday I saw the movie “Resident Evil 3″, is a amazing movie!! I liked it so much mainly “Alice” uufff My Beautiful Milla Jovovich, she is really really pretty woman, I would like to have the T Virus!! jajaja and then she kills me many times jeje so that I suggest you must to see it !! OK

Well, today I spent my time praticing some concepts about the router’s configuration so that I download a simulator router for model CISCO 2500 it is a little a bit dificult to understand how you must cofigurate a router using a terminal TV100 for example!! the important is to learn which are the main commands for configurating it and you have to analyze the network’s situacion where the router will be working!!
Many concepts I know, but some are very dificult mainly when we talk about routing protocols so that I have to study very hard it, My friend Caro told me a tutorial about cisco’s certification, it has a useful information about networks and routing I expect to clean my doubts.

Certainly my friends Caro and Leo Yamasaki got a schoolarship for studyng their doctorado in Spain, I know that they will achieve that because bouth are genius people jejej!!

well I have to sleep a couple of hours because I must wake up on 6:00 a.m. and now its 1:00 jejeje!! I just sleep five hours bye!!!

Giving a Talk again!!

Filed under: OBSS

After the couple of weeks, I post again in that blog. Now we gave a talk in The University Valley of Grijalva UVG which is located in Tapachula, Chiapas near to the UNACH the place where I work.
My Friend Master Carolina Franco invited me to give a talk the same who I gave in the ANIEI about Joomla.
We arrived to UVG arount 10:50 a.m., I found many good friend of the UNACH, they work as teachers in it. Many studients participated in that Talk, My Friend Caro talked about the different kind of CMS (Content Management System), after that, I explained to them how to use Joomla, how to organize the information. Also I made some examples like posting information, enabled a module, how to install a module. The student liked the talk and they understood the using a CMS for developing a Web Site is important.

There are some pictures:

My Friend Master CARO !!

Me, talking about Dynamic Contents

I would like to give a Talk about Mono Project or AJAX, I hope that happend very Soon ;) , I believe that Mono Project is a important project which should be explained to the computer student. They must know the new technologies.
