Hello everybody, lately I’ve been working in my university with some friends, we help to capture information about the natural desaster (Hurricane Stan) which affected to my city I live in(Tapachula) so that I haven’t had a lot of time for working in this project (OpenBSS) but I have tried to do some tasks in the nigths. Well I’ll talk to you about the UML diagram for POS(point-of-sale) Module.

This is something I have been doing for more than 2 weeks but I have never done anything similiar and so I thought I wouldn’t finish it. After reading many books I could understand the UML’s Notation for modeling the database. The last time I talked to Necudeco and we changed some tables and attributes of ER diagram caused by that I decided to design other diagram adding new tables (class) and relations.

I usually use DIA project for designing it. Now I’m waiting for suggestions from necudeco and enzo, Once we will finish to design the POS’s UML diagram then We’ll create the database using SQL on PostgreSQL for POS Module.

For having a Good Web Site of our project, I designed the page using some pictures that Aquiles sent us and I add information about the team, features and what is openbss. I hope Enzo will update it in next days. We need to work faster !!!

I’v been talking to Necudeco about Database’s Model and today We decide that the best way for getting a good DataBase’ Model is using UML so that I started to read about UML’ Notation.

The fist thing I should do is to analyze the diagram ER again and desing a one class for each diagram’s relation. Necudeco told me some mistakes into the diagrama so that I have to fix some mistakes that I done.

I find it boring for me to desing (to trasnform) the diagram using UML’ Notation but It’s necessary for the project. Little by little we’ll finish every task.!! So We must work faster.

I think the next weeks I won’t sleep well because we have a lot of work, but I accustomed to sleep few hours during the day so It will be esay for me jaja!!

Yesterday my friend MarioC sent me a tutorial wich explains how to use the autools for fix some problem about the Makefile.am, I hope fix that bug tomorrow and create the final package( DEMO OpenBSS).

Finalmente pude crear un instalador para el demo que desarrollamos entre Enzo y yo , como era la primera vez que usaba la herramienta autoconf para crear el instalador me fue dificil aprender a crear los archivos makefile.am y configure.in. Pero bueno despues de un par de horas ya esta listo!!

Para instalar el Demo en su computadora deben realizar lo siguiente:

$ tar -xzvf openbss-demo.tar.gz
$ cd open-demo.tar.gz
$ ./configure
$ make
$ make run

y tambien deben de configurar la base de datos las instrucciones la pueden encontrar en el archivo llamado INSTALL_DB

Empezaremos con Necudeco a modelar la base de datos con UML, esperamos tener en una semana ya avances y darlos a conocer!!

Hoy estube platicando con Necudeco acerca del modelado de la Base de Datos usando UML para la seccion de POS(point-of-sale), asi desde hoy empezamos a disenar el nuevo diagrama de la base de datos usando la correspondiente notacion de UML. Esperamos terminarlo en esta semana y subirlo al SVN de Novell.

Tambien he estado tratando de crear un instalador para el prototipo que hize, para el modulo POS. Como es la primera vez que creo un instalador con autoconf, me esta costando un poco pero no debo rendirme ya casi termino de crearlo y asi poder subir un fichero .tar.gz para que puedan descargarlo del SVN del proyecto OBSS.

En estos ultimos dias he trabajado en la realizacion de un pequeño prototipo para el modulo POS(point-of-sale) de OBSS, tomando la idea del control de inicio de sesion que me envio Enzo, pude desarrollar este prototipo, el cual valida los usuarios para el ingreso al sistema, creacion de tickets, y busqueda de articulos. Utilice un logo la opcion 3, mas que no quiere decir que ese sea el seleccionado.

Estoy trabajando para generar una primer version pre-alpha y asi poder crear un archivo instalador makefile y subirlo al servidor svn de novell forge. En un par de dias estara listo para que nos envien sus sugerencias.
